Delete your account

App: LerneQ, for iPhone, iPad and Android  ·  Last updated: 20 July 2026

You can delete your LerneQ account and its data at any time, either inside the app or by email. You do not need the app installed to make the request.

Cancel your subscription first

Deleting your account does not cancel a paid subscription, because the subscription belongs to your Apple Account or your Google account, not to LerneQ. Cancel it in App Store → Subscriptions or Google Play → Subscriptions before you delete, or you will keep being charged.

Option 1: delete it in the app

This is immediate and needs no waiting.

  1. Open LerneQ and go to Settings.
  2. Tap Account.
  3. Tap Delete Account and confirm.

You will be asked to sign in again first. That is a security check to confirm it is really you, required before an account can be erased.

Option 2: ask us by email

If you have uninstalled the app, lost your device, or simply prefer not to use it, email us instead.

  1. Email lerneq.app@gmail.com with the subject Delete my account.
  2. Send it from the email address you signed in with, so we can confirm the request is yours. If you used Sign in with Apple with "Hide My Email", send it from that relay address, or tell us the relay address you were given.
  3. We confirm by reply once the deletion is done.

We act on requests within 30 days, and in practice within 24 to 48 hours. We will not ask you for a password, a payment detail, or any document.

What gets deleted

Everything below is erased and cannot be recovered:

  • Your account record: the email address and name we received from Google or Apple when you signed in, and your user ID.
  • Your synced learning data: card reviews and their spaced-repetition schedule, topic progress and accuracy, the words you got wrong, your study session history, your streak and daily goal, and your synced app settings.
  • Data on the device, when you delete from inside the app: your stored name, progress, streak and review schedule. Interface preferences such as theme and language stay until you uninstall, because they identify nobody.

If you never signed in, there is nothing on our servers to delete. All your data is already on your device only, and uninstalling the app removes it.

What we have to keep, and for how long

We would rather be exact than reassuring, so:

  • Purchase and subscription records held by Apple, Google Play and our subscription processor RevenueCat. Tax and accounting law requires these to be retained, typically for up to 10 years. We cannot delete them on request, and neither can you. They record a transaction, not your learning.
  • Analytics already collected. These are not linked to your account, your name or your email, and Google deletes them automatically within 14 months of your last activity.
  • Crash reports, which carry no identifier of you and are deleted within 90 days.
  • Support emails you sent us, kept for up to 12 months so we have a record of what we agreed. Ask in the same email and we will delete the thread too.

If you want the RevenueCat subscriber record removed as well, say so in your email and we will request it once the retention period allows.

Starting again later

Deletion is permanent. Signing in again with the same Google or Apple account creates a brand new, empty account. Your previous progress cannot be restored, by us or by anyone.

Questions

Anything unclear before you delete, ask first. We would rather answer than have you lose progress by mistake.
